An uplifting, joyous documentary featuring a female dance troupe with a difference, CALENDAR GIRLS proves that age is just a number. Since 2005, Calendar Girls have danced their way into the hearts of Southwest Florida with over 100 performances each year. Known for their some-times elegant, but more often wild and wacky costumes, the group is comprised of women from diverse backgrounds, most of which have never danced before. Swedish directors Maria Loohufvud and Love Martinsen combine the dancers’ fascinating personal stories with the group’s colourful routines to create an inspiring film that smashes the stereotypes of aging.
